Review: NBSR Reiki Meditation MP3 by William Shand
Download price: R130

The first thing I discovered about binaural beats about 2 years ago, is that not everyone who claims to use this technology actually knows what it means.

Andrew is a musician who not only knows how to create an exact binaural beat, say, 8Hz, but also how to hide that beat in beautiful music. This is how he introduces his Reiki cd, review follows.

From NBSR Audio:

Here is what you will experience every time you listen actively to this Reiki Meditation:

  • Understanding how to use the time for healing
  • Physical relaxation and release of tension
  • Mental release of anger and problems of the day
  • Reiki visualisation and imagination*
  • Cell and DNA healing visualisation and imagination
  • Inner Child emotional healing
  • Contemplating what you want most deeply in life
  • Coming out, feeling grounded, like you've got it together

*Visualisation and imagination are both important in hypnosis, but most people find one easier than the other. Whether you visualise it, or imagine that you can feel it - your subconscious mind can not tell the difference between what is real and what is imagined. This is how hypnosis works.

Reiki Meditation MP3 guides you into hypnosis using a relaxing backing track of Binaural Beats and isochronic pulses at Alpha frequency. Isochronic hypnosis is as effective for beginners as it is for experienced meditators, because you choose the level to which you engage. If you give it your full attention, your hypnosis will be much deeper, as will be the emotional healing.

After the meditation, it is normal to feel sleepy. Your subconscious mind will want to dream about what your healing experience means, and this is where the real change and letting go happens.

With continuous use, you will feel more positive about your life. You can leave anger and negativity in the past, and you can follow your dreams and goals without any self criticism or doubt.

Reiki Meditation Active Listening
Fighting it, or letting your mind wonder, will reduce the effects. Remember school? Did you learn anything by staring out the window, or rebelling?
For best results, do this meditation every day, and give it your full attention - follow the suggestions with all your focus and to the best of your ability. Its ok if you fall asleep during the track, because you will take the information into your dreams, where it becomes more powerful.

Review:
I was one of Andrew's first clients to try the Reiki cd, so when he asked me to review it I had already been using it for about 4 months.

I suffer with depression and I have been using binaural beats for meditation for about 2 years. I found Andrew's production quite different from the other guided meditations I have tried, he's quite detailed in describing what happens with energy and the breathing.

The binaural beats are quite subtle, and he uses isochronic tones as well, so the music is immediately calming and appealing.

I must say I found the suggestions quite difficult to get into at first, my thoughts were racing and I found myself thinking a lot about all the things I needed to do, or just anything instead of listening. Andrew said it would work if could just give it a chance, but I felt like every time I tried to follow the cd it seemed like it was too good to be real, and I would start to imagine the opposite happening, to try to keep myself in the real world.

I must say I did find it quite relaxing though, and I always fell asleep at some point. Then after a few weeks of listening to it every day I found it easier to follow, and that's when I started to feel the depression lifting. Since then I listen to one of his cds every day. I still feel down sometimes but not as much as I used to feel.

This has definitely helped me to move on with my life and with my work, and my friends have also noticed a big difference. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to heal emotionally. It will change the way you feel.

Cost: R130
Duration: 30 minutes

On the value side, I am getting way more playing time out of this Reiki download than I ever would with a cheap cd that I like.

On the pay per minute side, there are literally hundreds of cheap and free downloads that may well be everything you need.

So it comes down to investing a little more in something that you know works, or investing the time testing 100s of free downloads looking for one you like.

Hypnotherapy in Durban - Hypnotherapy Information

NBSR Hypnotherapy since 2005

.

Hi, I'm Andrew. I want to show you how to transform the challenges in your life into stepping stones.

In this review, I will begin with my own website, but as the weeks roll on I will be exploring some of the many great websites that host audio hypnosis material.

Whether you want to...
  • lose some weight, a bad habit like smoking, or self-critical thinking
  • overcome procrastination, anxiety, or depression
  • improve your sleeping, relationship, or work performance...
... you are always stronger when you can stand on top of your obstacle. Sometimes, the only direction you can go, is up :)
You will also find out how to
  • define your life's purpose
  • feel passionate about who you are, and what you are here to do
  • be happy, peaceful, and successful in all areas of your life
  • be more positive every day by choosing which thoughts to entertain, and which thoughts to ignore
.
.

Why Hypnotherapy?

  • Unprocessed problems, create
  • subconscious defence mechanisms, which become
  • negative beliefs about your self, and that leads to
  • self-sabotaging behaviour and more problems.
  • Hypnotherapy processes the problem, by
  • training you to think and act positively and constructively, and
  • re-enforcing your positive belief in yourself, and that leads to
  • successful behaviour, self confidence, and happiness.
.
.

Does Hypnosis Work?

Two things are important when evaluating the effectiveness of hypnosis:
  1. Your expectation
  2. The skill level of the Hypnotherapist
.
There is very little common knowledge about hypnosis, because it is not part of the main stream curriculum of medicine or psychology. However, like so many modalities sidelined by corporate medicine, Hypnotherapy remains an extremely effective method of personal transformation and emotional healing.
 .
.

Your Expectation

Most people have expectations of magic, being a puppet on a string, swirling lights, turning into a chicken, or losing their minds. The reality is: hypnosis is the same state as meditation. The electroencephalogram (EEG) measures brain activity, and has been used in countless scientific tests and studies, observing brain activity in hypnosis.
.

.
Despite the implication, slow brain activity is not a sign of slow intelligence, but of relaxation. The slower your brain rate, the more relaxed you are. Hypnosis is most commonly observed between 4 and 10 Hz, ranging from Theta state, when the subject is very deep, to Alpha, a state of higher activity also associated with dreaming.

Reality:
  • Hypnosis is a heightened state of learning
  • You can hear sounds around you
  • You can hear the Hypnotherapist's voice
  • You can not be hypnotised to do anything which is against your nature
  • You can feel deeply relaxed and calm
  • You can find it easier than usual to let go of your thoughts and just be
  • If you go to a properly qualified Hypnotherapist, you can not become stuck in hypnosis
 .
.

The skill level of the Hypnotherapist

Your Hypnotherapist should have the skill to hypnotise you, even if you find it difficult to let go in the beginning. The way you go into hypnosis is exclusive to you, and everyone goes in differently. Some people take 30 minutes to be hypnotised, others are deep in hypnosis within a few seconds. It's up to your Hypnotherapist to find your way into this state, and guide you to go deeper.

A sure way of knowing how deep you are, is your rapid eye movement (REM). A skilled Hypnotherapist can see how deep you are by the way your eyes move under your lids.

Neuro-Linguistics

translation: brain-words
One of the essential skills of a good Hypnotherapist is an understanding of the words your brain responds to - also called neurolinguistic patterns, or suggestibility. An entire school of hypnosis is devoted entirely to this study - Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). As part of your self hypnosis training, which includes how to write affirmations in your own personal subconscious language, you will discover what your personal suggestibility is, and how that programs the way you communicate with people.

NBSR Hypnotherapy

I work with a number of techniques to activate the Alpha state in hypnosis, the ideal brain state for learning. Before going into hypnosis, you decide what you want to happen in your hypnosis session. During hypnosis, all I am doing is talking you through exactly what you want. It's a bit like being in a movie about your own life, where you are the star, and everything goes your way. This positive reinforcement trains your subconscious mind to form your desired behaviour into a habit.
.
NBSR is a personal development system that trains you to be calm and positive, and pro-active. There are 3 main areas of focus, each consisting of 3 techniques, making 9 techniques in total. The 3 main areas of focus are:
  1. Alpha Learning
  2. Relaxation and Healing
  3. Self Knowing
Alpha Learning forms the core of the sessions. The Alpha techniques are
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Isochronic Binaural beats
  • Self hypnosis training
The other techniques are, in the area of Relaxation and Healing
  • Reiki
  • Yoga
  • Meditation Training
and in the area of Self Knowing:
  • Self analysis
  • Dream work
  • Past life regression
Your training will be the combination of techniques that work best for you.

NBSR in Practice - Neuro-Behavioural Sound Reprogramming

I use a specialised Isochronic Binaural soundtrack played through stereo speakers during hypnosis to set the Frequency-Following Response into Alpha. Related article: "Frequency-Following Response, Binaural Beats, the “God Helmet”??? – What are the limits of FFR technology?"
.
Drawing from my Yoga Teacher training, I use a sound that is specific to a Chakra to activate the subconscious healing process in that area. This technique originated in Tibet, with their singing bowels. Each singing bowel is tuned to an exact note, and that sound causes the Chakra in the body to reverberate. The practice of using a certain sound to "tune" a Chakra back to it's natural frequency, can be found all over the ancient world. Emotionally, "tuning your vibration to a harmonious frequency" is the same as healing. The modern discover in neuro-science of the Frequency-Following Response, is simply proving how accurate those ancient healing methods are.
.
Chakra Tones
.
NBSR Audio hypnosis tracks are tuned to the 432 Hz frequency, see full article: "The Harmony of 432 Hz - Tuning In to the Cosmic Hum"
.
I offer a free support system for my clients, including audio downloads to help with meditation, Reiki, and panic attack, as well as numerous PDF worksheets and methods, such as dream work, relationship questionnaires, and Yoga breathing techniques for relaxation. There is also a self hypnosis program that allows you to turn your affirmation into a personalised hypnotherapy track, with binaural isochronic beats - all for no extra charge.

Background

In my early 20's I overcame a debilitating  stutter. It was really bad, since the age of about 3. I would block on words without any kind of pattern or predictability, and try to push them out, but nothing would happen. The word would just freeze, and my jaw would lock. Sometimes a vowel would stick and I would have an "aa" sound until I could force myself to finish the word. Socially, it was pretty awkward.

When I was 10, my class teacher told my patents I would never pass matric. She advised a remedial school. I stayed in the main stream, and finished well enough. Despite my handicap I enjoyed debating and I was head of the student council, but in my first year at university studying fine arts, (UCT) I had an opportunity to do a classical music radio show with my brother on Fine Music Radio, (FMR 101.3) a community station.

On live radio, stuttering meant dead air, and although no-one had the heart to say anything to me, I took it pretty seriously. My brother would always cover for me if I blocked, but after a while he got too busy, and I carried on with the show, solo.

I found myself looking for ways around a block instead of trying to push through it. Synonyms, and alternative phrasing started to come to me more fluently, and within a year I was completely comfortable in the skill that I had developed. I continued at FMR for a further 8 years, doing the 4pm - 6pm afternoon show, "Winding Down". (1996 - 2004)
